Catriona Gray님의 프로필을 잠깐 살펴보자면,

1994년 1월 6일에 태어나서, 호주 아버지와 필리핀 어머니 사이에서 태어난 혼혈입니다.

어릴때 호주에서 학교를 다니다가, 건너와서 필리핀에서 모델로써 활동하였고,

The finalists were asked different questions by former Miss World titleholders and judges, and it was Miss World 2015, Spain's Mireia Lalaguna, who asked Catriona, "Which qualities do you think it will take to wear my crown?"

Catriona answered:

"I think first of all, it takes bravery. To be a Miss World is to carry a burning torch. It is like action carried out by one to illuminate the lives of many. And I would dedicate my whole self, my love for the arts, and my voice to trying to uplift, empower, and educate people. And it would be my greatest honor and duty to hold this torch high enough so that all the world could feel and see its light."

카트리오나가 답변하기를:

"제 생각에는 일단이것은, 용감 이라는 표현을 써야할거같습니다. 미스월드가 된다는것은 불타는성화봉을 손에쥔다는것을 의미하죠. 이건 많은 사람들 하나하나가 모여서 이뤄지는것과 같습니다. 저는 단지 이들을 대신하여 제 전부를 다바쳐서, 제 목소리로써, 저의 미에대한 사랑으로써, 용기를 북돋우고, 권한을받아 및 사람들을 교육을 도울것이에요. 이 성화봉을 손에쥔다면 저에게 이또한 더한영광은 없을것이며, 세계 곳곳에서도 이 빛을 느끼고, 볼수있도록 저는 이 성화봉을 더욱더 굳건히 치켜올릴겁니다."

그렇다면 이번 미스유니버스 2018년 우승을 거머쥐게한 그녀의 연설은 무엇일까?

그녀는 어린이들의 지원에 대해서 이야기하였다.

​

"Working in some of the poorest areas of my country, I found that it was a lack of Child support, not poverty that killed their dreams. A child once told me that's not just my life and those dreams aren't meant for me but I stand here today because someone believed in me and owe it to our children to believe in them."
